Nature Tourism

Weslaco is the Valley's center for nature tourism with three sites on the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail, bringing visitors from around the world.

Favorite sites include:

  • Mid-Valley Nature Center (butterfly & cactus gardens, elevated lily pond and much more)
  • Frontera Audubon Center
  • Future site of the Llano Grande World Birding Center

Weslaco is known for its flock of tropical, bright green parrots, as well as many other tropical birds.
