WESLACO, TX. January 13, 2023 – The EDC of Weslaco announces nationally renowned fresh cut steak restaurant, Texas Roadhouse as the anchor tenant for the Shops at N Bridge.

The development is being constructed by San Antonio-based company, Garansuay Group, who has updated their roster of tenants to include Texas Roadhouse, a 7,926 sq. ft. restaurant & dining facility along with parking for 170 vehicles located on 2.21 acres and job creation of approximately 191 salary, full time and part time jobs combined.

“I have yet to see an empty parking lot at any of the Texas Roadhouse restaurants in the Valley,” says EDC Board President, Juan “JJ” Serrano, Jr. “And I believe that our community of Weslaco and the Mid Valley will either match or exceed their annual sales.”

It was June 2022, when Craig Garansuay President and CEO of Garansuay Group, Inc. broke ground on the development located at the SWC of N. Bridge Ave. and Expressway 83 Frontage; and promised to aggressively pursue retailers.  Seven months later, the impressive list of signed Tenants includes: Texas Roadhouse, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, James Avery, Paris Bakery, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, Juice Us, Benjamin Moore Paints, Cita’s Boutique, Allure Nails & Spa and Stefano’s Brooklyn Pizza.  Tenant openings are expected beginning in summer through early fall 2023.

“It’s significant to the development and community to create job opportunities.” says Craig Garansuay.

“We like that the hard corner is still available,” says Jerry Gonzalez, Vice President of the EDC Board of Directors, “That means we still have room for one or two more brand names for our growing city of Weslaco.”

“We’re not stopping here,” says Steven Valdez, Executive Director for the EDC of Weslaco. “Three other highway frontage development projects are following the success of Shops at N Bridge.  Domain Development’s South Point Plaza II is building up the pad site elevation, the redevelopment of the Weslaco Palm Plaza is producing some impressive design images, and the 7 acre tract off FM 1015 and Expressway 83, is also recruiting an anchor restaurant for its 120 bed - four story hotel.

“The City of Weslaco continues to position itself as the hub of the Mid Valley,” says David Suarez, Mayor of Weslaco, “And as the region continues to grow, and our quality of life and value we place on our personal time becomes a priority, being centrally located is fundamental.”
