Dutch Bros Coffee Coming to Weslaco
WESLACO, Texas – The EDC of Weslaco (EDCW) announces the groundbreaking ceremony for the Dutch Bros Coffee, to be held Friday, May 12th at 2 pm, located at 326 N. Westgate Dr. in Weslaco, TX.
The development is being constructed by the San Antonio-based company, the Garansuay Group. Dutch Bros Coffee will be located at Shops at Westgate, a 7 acre tract – where the coffee company will construct their building on roughly 1 acre. This will be their second development project in Weslaco for the Garansuay Group, the first being the Shops at N Bridge.
“We believe that public-private partnerships, like those promoted by EDCW, play a crucial role in stimulating economic growth and stability in communities,” said Craig Garansuay, “by working together, businesses and local government can identify opportunities for investment and growth by developing strategies that benefit the public.”
Dutch Bros Coffee has been open since 1992 serving a variety of caffeinated beverages from classic coffee to energy drinks. As of 2021, they started serving the southeast region of Oklahoma and Texas. Weslaco will mark its 5th location in the Rio Grande Valley.
“What’s great about this new company coming to Weslaco,” says Steven M. Valdez, Executive Director of the EDC, “is this exact location (Westgate Dr.). It’s not off the expressway, it doesn’t rely on highway traffic visibility, but it recognizes the value of our neighborhood growing off the mainstream. Dutch Bros owners selected Weslaco with the confidence that our own set of community values will make their store profitable.”
The event will feature comments from the Mayor Pro Tem, Jose “JP” Rodriguez, EDCW Board President, Juan J “JJ” Serrano, Craig Garansuay, Developer, and Kayla Batista, Regional Operator for Dutch Bros Coffee.
